LINCOLN SQUARE — The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends every parent learn CPR.

Later this month, those interested can sign up for a non-certified CPR course at Chase Park, 4701 N. Ashland Ave.

Three separate sessions are being offered — two training classes on how to perform CPR on infants and toddlers, and a third on how to perform CPR on older children/adults.

Training will be provided by Chicago CPR, following American Heart Association guidelines. Instructors all have a backgrounds in either health care or emergency response.

The cost is $5 per session and admission is available online and at the door.

The infant and toddler sessions are scheduled for 10 a.m. April 19-20, and will teach basics such as choking relief. Baby-sitting service will be provided on April 19 for children 2 years and older.

The adult session is scheduled for 2 p.m. April 20. Instruction will focus on "hands only" CPR, choking relief and defibrillator use.
