O'HARE — Nine people were hospitalized overnight after complaining of nausea at O'Hare International Airport, authorities said.

The Fire Department was called to O'Hare at 11 p.m. Monday, according to Fire Department spokesman Juan Hernandez. Six ambulances were called and transported a total of nine people to two hospitals after they complained of nausea, Hernandez said.

Seven were taken to Our Lady of Resurrection Hospital and two were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Hernandez said their conditions had stabilized as of Tuesday morning.

The passengers were part of a tour group on their way to Copenhagen, Hernandez said. The group was on a bus tour before getting sick at O'Hare, according to authorities. Those in the tour group who did not get sick were kept from flying as a precaution.

Hernandez said it is still unknown what caused the passengers to fall ill. He said authorities are investigating.
