CHICAGO — Police have issued community alerts warning Grand Boulevard and Bronzeville residents about recent robbery and burglary incidents.

One alert described two aggravated robbery incidents in which men imply that they have a weapon and then rob victims without ever displaying the weapon. Both incidents happened in the 5100 block of South Prairie Avenue earlier this month, police said.

The alert describes four male suspects as black, 5-foot-8, with dreadlocks and wearing black hooded sweatshirts. Two other suspects are described in the alert as two black men, 5-foot-7 and 17 to 18 years old.

Police asked that anyone with information on the Grand Boulevard robberies to call detectives at 312-747-8380.

In another alert, police cautioned that there has been an increase of daytime burglaries in Bronzeville this month.  Unknown suspects entered buildings in the 500 block of East 42nd Street, the 500 block of East Bowen Avenue and the 500 block of East Oakwood Boulevard, according to the alert.

Police did not have descriptions of suspects.

Anyone with information about the Bronzeville burglaries should call detectives at (312) 747-8384.
