NORTH CENTER — Two teens were shot in an apparent drive-by on the city's Northwest Side Sunday night, police said.

The shooting happened in the 2400 block of West Irving Park Road, authorities said. About 11:30 p.m. Sunday, the two teens were driving on Irving Park when a dark SUV pulled along side their car and opened fire, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.

Greer said an 18-year-old man was hit in the back and suffered a graze wound on his head. The other teen, 17, was also hit in the back, Greer said.

After the shooting, the two drove a few blocks before stopping the car. They were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where they were stabilized, Greer said.

No one was custody, and police are investigating.
