CHICAGO — Rapper Lupe Fiasco unveiled a new track dedicated to slain baby Jonylah Watkins late Thursday night.

"Jonylah Forever" imagines how the 6-month-old baby's life may have looked like had she not been fatally shot Monday afternoon.

"How about them bullets that slow you up? You ain't really die we watched you grow up," the rapper says in his opening lyrics.

"Your first breaths that we could call words were on your father's lap on November 23rd," he raps later. "And they will live for me and he did for you, flipped to neutron and stayed inside the crib for you."

A neutron is a term for someone who is not affiliated with any gang. Police have said Jonylah's father, Jonathan Watkins, is a member of the Gangster Disciples and was the target in the shooting that claimed Jonylah.

The song further imagines Jonylah attending King College Prep, a selective-enrollment high school in Chicago where Lupe Fiasco says Jonylah "bumped into Hadiya teaching art."

Hadiya Pendleton was a 15-year-old King student fatally shot in January.

The song ends with Jonylah living as a doctor and helping a baby shot while with her father in a minivan, just as Jonylah was.

"Not a song but a life. Be respectful Please keep negative comments to yourself," the rapper said in a Twitter update introducing the song.
