CHICAGO — Two men were injured overnight Monday in separate shootings on the city's South and Northwest sides.

About 9 p.m. Monday, a 20-year-old man was shot in the city's South Shore neighborhood, police said.

The man was shot in the 2100 block of East 71st Street, according to Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman. The man was struck in the buttocks and arm, Greer said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition and has since been stabilized, Greer said.

No one was in custody, and police had no other details on the shooting Tuesday morning.

Early Tuesday morning, a young man walked into the emergency room at Our Lady of Resurrection Medical Center with a gunshot wound, police said.

Greer said police received a call from the hospital about the shooting about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Greer said the man in his 20s had been shot in the right ankle before going to the hospital. Greer said police believed the shooting took place in the 5700 block of West Grand Avenue in the city's Belmont Central neighborhood. Greer said the man was in good condition.
