Residents Warned of Armed Robberies on South Calumet Avenue

CHICAGO — Police issued an alert to Washington Park residents after three separate armed robberies along South Calumet Avenue.

The incidents occurred in the 5300 and 5900 blocks of the street, police said.

In each incident, the victims were approached by one or more teen boys and robbed at gunpoint with a blue-steel semi-automatic handgun, police said.

The suspects range from ages 14 to 18, 5-foot to 5-foot-5-inches tall and 110 to 130 pounds.
