CHICAGO — The "Mummy Bandit," known for robbing banks while wearing a construction safety vest, hit his fourth Chicago bank Tuesday, officials said.

The man demanded money from a teller about 4:34 p.m. at North Community Bank, 2000 W. Division St., said Officer Daniel O'Brien, a police spokesman.

The man fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, O'Brien said. The man neither showed nor implied he had a weapon.

The "Mummy Bandit" — known for his face coverings — sometimes wears an orange construction worker vest, according to the FBI.

The "Mummy Bandit" has hit three other North Community Bank branches banks since December, said Special Agent Joan Hyde, an FBI spokeswoman.

The alleged robber is described as a white male between the ages of 27 and 30. He stands about 6-foot-3 and weighs 230 pounds, according to the FBI.

The "Mummy Bandit" is believed to have previously robbed a North Community Bank Branch at 1555 N. Damen Ave. on Feb. 22, another branch at 4701 N. Clark St. on Feb. 1, and a branch at 4701 N. Clark St. on Dec. 20, according to the FBI.

The FBI asks anyone with information to call 312-421-6700.
