RAVENSWOOD — With a closed course that takes advantage of the neighborhood's wide streets and picturesque scenery, the annual Ravenswood Run already has plenty of popular appeal.

Add a post-race pancake breakfast for charity, and the event becomes downright irresistible.

Athletic shoe store Fleet Feet has announced that registration is now open for the race, scheduled for April 28, with a starting line at Wilson and Hermitage avenues. The cost is $35, with proceeds once again benefiting the Ravenswood Community Services Food Pantry at All Saints' Episcopal Church, as well as student health centers at Lake View and Amundsen high schools.

New this year, organizers have included a post-race pancake breakfast for an additional $10 donation, 100 percent of which will also go to Ravenswood Community Services. For every $10, the pantry is able to buy 100 pounds of food for needy members of the Ravenswood and Uptown communities.
