NORTH CENTER — Northcenter Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Garrett FitzGerald said he's been diagnosed with an inoperable stage four brain tumor.

"It's a tough hand I've been dealt here. But I'm going to fight this with everything I've got," FitzGerald said in a statement released via the Chamber's Facebook page.

FitzGerald joined the Chamber nearly eight years ago and is credited with creating an identity for North Center, which is sandwiched between Lincoln Square and Lakeview.

According to the statement, FitzGerald will begin an aggressive course of treatment within the next few days.
