CHICAGO — Two alleged gang members are being held on $1 million bail in connection with the drive-by shooting death of a North Park man, prosecutors said.
Claudius Jackson, 20, and Giovanni Martinez, 16, were both charged with first-degree murder and accused of killing Keith Shaw, 22, of the 3100 block of West Foster Avenue. They appeared at a bond hearing at Cook County Criminal Court Friday.
Shaw was fatally shot in the chest and abdomen on Nov. 20, according to authorities. The shooting occurred on the 3400 block of West Sunnyside Avenue — less than a block from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Albany Park.
Shaw was pronounced dead on the scene shortly before 11 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner.
Police said the drive-by shooting was gang-related. Martinez is being tried as an adult.
