NORTH PARK — Now in its fourth year, Bowmanville's annual fall festival has gotten so big it's now a Pumpkinpalooza. The event features a pumpkin patch, live music, food vendors, and craft, game and play zones.
Jointly hosted by the Bowmanville Community Organization and Rogers Park Montessori School, Pumpkinpalooza is set for Oct. 13, 1 - 4 p.m., at Ravenswood and Balmoral (west side of the Metra tracks).
At the North Park Village Nature Center, 5801 N. Pulaski Rd., a highlight of the two-day, 21st Annual Harvest Festival is sure to be the scarecrow-making contest. Bring your own old clothes or use items provided.
Nature crafts and other seasonal activities are available at the Nature Center, Oct. 13-14, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Admission is free.
The Farmers Garden Market, 2232 W. Lawrence Ave., has all the supplies needed to create a do-it-yourself festival at home. Stock up on pumpkins, hay, corn stalks, mums and spider leg pumpkin stands.
