Lane Tech supporters are being encouraged to forsake the school's traditional myrtle and gold colors when the boys basketball team takes on the squad from Lincoln Park High School, Jan. 15 at 5 p.m.
Instead, fans, staff and students are being asked to turn the gymnasium into a sea of purple for the school's first annual Project Purple event.
Project Purple was established by former NBA basketball player Chris Herren to break the stigma of addiction, bring awareness to the dangers of substance abuse and shed light on effective treatment practices.
