The Horner Park Advisory Council's Dog Friendly Area Committee (DFAC) will provide an update on progress toward establishing a dog area in the park.

Surveys conducted by the committee indicate strong support for this feature.

DFAC has identified a 1.89 acre underutilized site at the south end of Horner Park to run along Irving Park Road from the river to California Avenue inside current walking paths. The proposed dog park would be fully fenced and surfaced with canine grass, which is a lead-free artificial turf designed for dogs.

The committee is in the midst of complying with a number of Park District requirements related to creating a dog friendly area.

The meeting will be held at the Horner Park fieldhouse, second floor, in conjunction with the 33rd Ward Advisory Council meeting. Come learn about the dog park proposal and add your voice to the conversation.
