CHATHAM— Chicago pet owners can get their pets vaccinated and microchipped Oct. 7.

Only the first 100 will be served.

The Ald. Roderick Sawyer (6th) and the Chicago Department of Animal and Care Control are inviting residents to bring their pets to the ward office parking lot, 700 E. 79th St. from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Micro-chipping costs $15. A city dog license is $5 for a neutered/sprayed dog and $50 for one that isn't. Cat (FVRCP) and dog (DAP2LL) vaccinations are $7 and rabies vaccinations are $15 — cash only.

The services are open to Chicago residents 18 and older with a valid photo ID. All pets over 4 months old must have a current rabies vaccination and a current dog license. If not, they'll be required to buy one at the time of the clinic. Proof of vaccines will be required.
