DOUGLAS — Armed burglars hit Lake Meadows Apartments and another nearby apartment building last week while the residents were inside sleeping, according to police.

Police on Wednesday issued an alert after three reported burglaries in Douglas on Aug. 29 and Aug. 31 where someone was home in all three cases.

The burglars allegedly got into the apartments while people were sleeping and took things, and at least in one incident the resident awoke to find a man with a blue steel semi-automatic pistol, according to police.

Police were not able to provide an identifying description of any of the men suspected.

The incidents include a 3:30 a.m. and noon burglary on Aug. 29 in the 400 block of East 32nd Street and a 2 a.m. burglary on Aug. 31 in the 100 block of East 32nd Street.
