WEST BEVERLY — A Washington Heights man was charged with residential burglary and possession of burglary tools after a break-in this week in West Beverly.

Kelvin Davis, 43, of the 10200 block of South Green Street was in court Tuesday after police said they caught him two blocks away from a home he attempted to burglarize in the 9900 block of South Fairfield Avenue at 12:27 a.m. Monday, Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Laura Amezaga said.

The officers arrived and quickly spotted a man who fit the description provided by the victim in the 9900 block of South Francisco Avenue in southwest suburban Evergreen Park, Amezaga said.

The victim of the West Beverly robbery then positively identified Davis as the burglar, and he was arrested, police said.
