One-Man Crime Spree Charged With 13 Burglaries Around The City, Police Say

CHICAGO — A Back of the Yards man accused in a string of business break-ins has been charged with 13 counts of burglary, police said.

Dwayne Johnson was seen in videos breaking the locks on business doors and then getting inside and taking cash and valuables, police said. The burglaries were spread between the Central, Chicago Lawn, Deering and Near West police districts.

On Wednesday, officers saw Johnson get into a car in the 5100 block of South Winchester Avenue and arrested him, police said. Johnson, 55, of the 5100 block of South Winchester Avenue, was charged with 13 counts of burglary.

Johnson was scheduled to appear in Bond Court on Thursday.
