UPTOWN — After two years in the making, the Uptown Ross Dress For Less is just about ready to open.

The clothing store slated for 918 W. Montrose will open March 4. The company plans to open more than twenty stores that day, including stores in suburban Homewood, Joliet and Hammond, Ind.

The opening date was first reported by Uptown Update.

Ross has been around since 1982 and has been bringing its customers "a constant stream of high-quality department and specialty store brands," according to the Ross website.

The company signed a lease for the Uptown building in August 2015.

Early renderings showed Ross will be the anchor tenant, with an additional 4,800 square feet remaining for another tenant that has yet to be announced. The site will also have about 73 parking spots.

Construction began in April.

The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, according to the website.
