Robbers In Ski Masks Targeting People In Near West Side, Police Say

CHICAGO — A group of men in ski masks has robbed people four times on the Near West Side this month, police said.

During the robberies, the men walk up to a victim and rob them, sometimes at gunpoint, according to a Chicago Police community alert.

The robberies occurred:

• 10 p.m. Jan. 9 in the 2000 block of West Monroe Street

• 4 p.m. Jan. 10 in the first block of North Damen Avenue

• 10 p.m. Jan. 20 in the 2000 block of West Monroe Street

• 4:26 p.m. Jan. 24 in the 2100 block of West Washington Boulevard

The robbers are typically described as three to five black boys or men who are 16-20 years old, 5-foot-5 to 6-foot-1 and weigh 130-160 pounds, police said. They wear dark clothing and ski masks during the robberies.
