By Kelly Bauer | January 24, 2017 12:32pm

CHICAGO — Anthony Hollins, 19, has died seven months after he was involved in a robbery in Portage Park, officials said.

At 11:40 p.m. June 30, a 28-year-old man was trying to get into his car in a parking lot in the 4000 block of North Laporte Avenue when two men walked up to him, police said. The two men had guns and tried to rob the 28-year-old man, police said, and a struggle broke out between them and the victim.

The 28-year-old man took out a gun and he and the others shot at each other, police said.

One of the robbers was hit in his neck and was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, police said. The other robber ran away, and the 28-year-old man was not wounded, police said.

Hollins, of the 3000 block of West Addison, was pronounced dead at 9:36 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from complications of a gunshot wound in his neck in a homicide.
