NORTH PARK — Folks are unfriending their political opposites on Facebook left and right, but the marriage of Democratic strategist James Carville and Republican operative Mary Matalin is still going strong after 23 years.

The couple will bring their sparring act to Northeastern Illinois University on Feb. 2, when they're set to talk about the current state of politics as part of the Daniel L. Goodwin Distinguished Lecture Series.

Journalist Thomas Corfman, an NEIU alum, will moderate the discussion at 7:30 p.m. in the university's Auditorium, 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Ave.

The event is free and open to the public, although seating is limited.

A book signing will follow the lecture from 8:45-9:30 p.m.
