Roseland Shooting Wounds Man Who Tried To Disarm Robber, Police Say

CHICAGO — A man was shot after trying to fight off an armed robber in Roseland on Wednesday morning, police said.

At 9:08 a.m., the man was in a store in the 200 block of West 95th Street when a man wearing all black and carrying a gun walked into the store and demanded money, police said.

The man tried to disarm the robber, but during the struggle the gun was fired and the man was hit in his left hand, police said.

The man was hit in his left hand and was taken to Roseland Hospital in good condition, police said.

The robber ran away, police said, taking money and a "small amount" of merchandise from the store. No one was in custody.
