ENGLEWOOD — Englewood organizers launched the Quality-of-Life Fund on Tuesday morning to raise money for community projects such as creating a college fund for 2016 children gun violence victims.

Nonprofit Teamwork Englewood will collect the donations. The fund's #GivingTuesday fundraiser has already set aside several projects it will support. The group has secured a $10,000 matching grant from an anonymous donor. Donate here.

Resident Association of Greater Englewood president Asiasha Butler said the Quality of Life Fund was created to help support projects created in the past through the Englewood Quality of Life Plan.

"It also is an opportunity for the residents and other stakeholders to collectively invest to improve the quality of life for this community,” Butler said. “During the previous planning phase, there were not many resources to support execution of these strategies. If we are able to raise the funds, many of the projects led by residents who are ready for positive change in Englewood will be supported."

Some projects that would be supported include:

• Purchase of new equipment for the Ogden Park Vikings, who were the 2016 Champions of the Junior Bears Football foundation

• Creation of a college fund for children who were victims of gun violence in Englewood in 2016

• Creation of a “Welcome to Englewood” sign/billboard

• Support for students in the Englewood Codes program

• Community beautification, public art projects and more
