CHICAGO — Morgan Park homes are being burglarized while their owners are out, police said.

In five burglaries since mid-October, a thief has gone into homes through an unlocked window, sometimes using a patio chair to reach the window, according to a Chicago Police community alert. The man then burglarizes the house and leaves through a back door.

The burglaries have happened during the day when the homeowners are at work or away from the house, police said.

The burglaries occurred:

• Oct. 12 in the 2500 block of West 116th Street

• Oct. 18 in the 1700 block of West Edmaire Street

• Nov. 1 in the 11600 block of South Watkins Avenue

• Nov. 15 in the 11400 block of South Bell Avenue

• Nov. 15 in the 2400 block of West 114th Street

Anyone with information about the burglaries was asked to call police at 312-747-8273.
