Northwest Side Homes Burglarized 5 Times, Police Say

CHICAGO — Northwest Side houses and apartments have been burglarized five times since the start of the month, police said.

During the burglaries, the thief or thieves get into apartments and houses and take money, jewelry and other items, according to a Chicago Police community alert.

In some of the instances, someone distracted a person living in the house or apartment so a thief could get in, police said.

The burglaries occurred:

• 9 a.m. Nov. 6 in the 6000 block of West Higgins Road

• 7:30 a.m.-6:45 p.m. Nov. 8 in the 5800 block of West Foster Avenue

• 5-5:20 p.m. Nov. 9 in the 5800 block of North Elston Avenue

• Noon-12:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in the 5800 block of North Mobile Avenue

• 10 p.m. Monday in the 5800 block of West Ainslie Street

Anyone with information about the burglaries was asked to call police at 312-744-8263.
