CHICAGO — Chicagoans want to go to the club the day before Thanksgiving, a Mongolian BBQ restaurant on Thanksgiving and to electronics stores on Black Friday.

That's according to Google search trends of destinations Chicagoans seek out during Thanksgiving week.

Where Chicagoans want to spend the holiday is very different than people nationwide, according to Google Maps search data.

The day before Thanksgiving, the five most searched for destinations in Chicago are: Night club, bus line, butcher shop, deli and toll road rest stop.

Nationwide, the five searches before Thanksgiving are: Ham shop, pie shop, liquor store, deli and running store.

Thanksgiving day is even more different.

Chicago's top destination searches on Thanksgiving Thursday: Mongolian BBQ restaurant, electronics store, appliance store, shopping center and Pakistani restaurant.

Nationally, it looks like this: Outlet mall / store, buffet restaurant, electronics store, movie rental kiosk and vista point.

On Black Friday, Chicagoans and people nationwide are zeroed in on shopping.

Here are Chicago's most searched for destinations in Google Maps: Electronics store, appliance store, mattress store, video game store and computer store.

Nationally though, people have an eye on Christmas. The most searched for destinations are: Christmas tree farm, outlet mall, electronics store, furniture store and appliance store.
