Man Charged In Hit-And-Run That Seriously Hurt 3-Year-Old On Halloween

CHICAGO — A Clearing man has been charged in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a 3-year-old boy on Halloween.

About 6:15 p.m. Monday, Cody J. Sanders, 25, was driving in the 6500 block of West 63rd Street when he hit the toddler, who was crossing the street with his family, according to a Chicago Police news release.

The boy was seriously injured, and Sanders drove away, police said.

Sanders, of the 6200 block of South Mulligan Avenue, has been charged with failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to help someone injured and failing to yield to a pedestrian, police said. He will appear in court on Friday.
