UPTOWN AND ANDERSONVILLE — Attempting to make Halloween an all-weekend celebration? Well, there are plenty of ways to make that happen.

Here is our list of eight things to do in Uptown and Andersonville:

Jai Ho(rror) Party: Every other month Big Chicks Bar hosts Jai Ho, a queer dance party featuring South Asian music. This month's party is a Halloween edition featuring Voxbox spinning Bollywood, Bhangra and Desi hits. At midnight, Trikone Chicago's drag empress Masala Sapphire "will unleash a coven of exciting queer performers." The most impressive Desi- and Bollywood-inspired costumes win prizes. A $5 donation that goes towards future Trikone Chicago events is suggested. Big Chicks, 5024 N. Sheridan Road. 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Friday.

Peek-A-Boo Burlesque: The Kiss Kiss Cabaret's Halloween-themed show "Peek-A-Boo" was the cabaret's original show back in 2009. This year's show features new dances by the Kiss Kiss Cabaret Coquettes and the Underground Vaudettes. Tickets start at $27.50 and can be bought here. 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Uptown Underground, 4707 N. Broadway.

Puppy Adoption And Dog Costume Party: In collaboration with PAWS Chicago, Baker and Nosh will host a puppy adoption Saturday. Dog owners will also be able to enter their pups into a costume contest for dog-friendly prizes from local pet shops. Baker and Nosh, 1303 W. Wilson Ave. From 10 a.m.-noon Saturday. Free.

The 48th Ward Halloween Parade: Activities for the sixth annual celebration begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Peirce Elementary School playground featuring games and entertainment from Dream Big Productions. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. It will head west on Bryn Mawr Avenue toward Clark Street then north towards Gethsemane Garden Center. Peirce Elementary School, 1400 W. Gregory St.

Night of the Living Draft: Bar on Buena and Brooklyn-based Evil Twin Brewery will team up for a Halloween party and Cubs viewing party Saturday. The party will feature a costume contest with prizes and horror movies on projectors before and after the Cubs game. It will feature several draft and can offerings from Evil Twin including Molotov Heavy, an imperial IPA (18 percent alcohol by volume). 7 p.m. Saturday. Bar on Buena, 910 W. Buena Ave. Free.

WANT's Ghostly Garden: West Andersonville Neighbors Together will host their annual "non-scary" Halloween celebration for the "smaller set" Saturday. The event includes games, small prizes, doughnut holes and cider. From 5:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday. West Andersonville Gardens, Ravenswood Avenue and Berwyn Avenue.

ASNA Online Pet Costume Contest: The Andersonville South Neighborhood Association is hosting an all pets costume contest on its Facebook page. To enter, like the page then message the association with your name, pet's name, phone, email and address. Then post a picture or video (30 seconds maximum) of your pet in costume with or without your family. First place receives $500, second place receives $50 and third place receives $25. Winners will be announced at Empirical Brewery, 1801 W. Foster Ave., at its pet parade from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday.

Fall Children's Festival: The Gethsemane Garden Center will host its annual Fall Children's Festival Saturday. The family-friendly event features pony rides, a balloon man, a mysterious maze and face painting. Performers include Suzuki Violonist and Scales and Tales. From 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Gethsemane Garden Center, 5739 N. Clark St.
