WEST TOWN — A 16-year-old girl was shot in her foot in West Town Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The girl was standing in the 2600 block of West Crystal Street when a man walked up and "engaged her in conversation" before firing shots, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The girl was brought to Stroger Hospital, where she was listed in good condition, police said.

Police said the shooting appeared to be gang-related.
