LINCOLN SQUARE — In the midst of budget cuts, layoffs and the threat of a looming strike, here's a bright spot for Chicago's teachers — free wine.
Ampersand Wine Bar, 4845 N. Damen Ave., is offering complementary glasses of vino to teachers throughout the month of September.
The barrel isn't quite bottomless: The deal is good for a teacher's first glass of wine during any happy hour, 5-6 p.m., Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
