CHICAGO — A shooting Wednesday in Englewood left a 40-year-old man wounded, police said.

At 7:55 p.m., the man was sitting in front of his home in the 5600 block of South Wolcott Avenue when a car drove up and someone inside fired shots, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was hit in the elbow and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Lemmon said.

No one was in custody.
