LINCOLN SQUARE — Wizards and muggles alike are invited to the Book Cellar's release party for "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child."

The festivities kick off at 10 p.m. Saturday, 4736 N. Lincoln Ave., and will include servings of butterbeer, a snitch search, costume contest and more. At the stroke of midnight, copies of "Cursed Child" will be available for purchase.

The newest installment in the Potter saga is actually the script to a play set to open in London on July 31. No need to tell Potter-philes the significance of that date — it's both the birthday of Harry and his creator J.K. Rowling.

Spoiler-ish alert: "Cursed Child," based on ideas from Rowling and written by Jack Thorne, picks up 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts and Harry's defeat of Voldemort.

What happened to the heroic boy (now man) wizard? He's — gasp — a government employee, working as a detective.

More importantly, is Harry and Ginny's son Albus Severus, sent off to Hogwarts at the end of "Deathly Hallows," sorted into Gryffindor or Slytherin?

Potter fans want an answer to Rowling's cliffhanger and "Cursed Child" will deliver.
