CHICAGO — You can help a neighborhood business get a $2,500 scholarship and a lot of exposure through a new award.

The Neighborhood Award, a part of the Chicago Innovation Awards, will honor small businesses that focus on innovation to help their communities, according to an Innovation Awards news release.

Ten finalists will get a $2,500 scholarship to attend The Practical Innovator, an executive education course at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management, the Innovation Awards said.

Three winners will be honored at the Oct. 25 Innovation Awards, will get to ring the Nasdaq bell and will get to meet with Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Gov. Bruce Rauner and other officials.

You can nominate your business or another business for free online. The deadline is Aug. 15.
