Marquette Park Shooting Wounds Man, 18, Police Say

CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man was shot and wounded in Marquette Park on Saturday afternoon, police said.

At 3 p.m., the man was walking in the 7200 block of South Spaulding Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was hit in his left leg. He took himself to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Tannehill said.

No one was in custody in the shooting.
