Brainerd Stabbing Kills Willie Pittman During Domestic Argument, Police Say

CHICAGO — A stabbing in Brainerd left 33-year-old Willie Pittman dead early Saturday, police said.

At 5:15 a.m., Pittman got into an argument with a 28-year-old man, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. Pittman arrived home in the 9200 block of South Lowe Avenue and got into an argument with the other man again.

During the argument, Pittman attacked the other man, Tannehill said. The other man then stabbed Pittman in his left armpit and lower back during the scuffle.

Pittman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, Tannehill said. He was pronounced dead at 11:24 a.m.

The other man remained at the scene of the stabbing and was detained for questioning, police said.
