COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A West Side man's imaginary joyride was cut short Monday when police found him — and his PCP — behind the wheel of a CTA bus, prosecutors said.

Larry Flowers, 43, "was in an out-of-service CTA bus with his shirt off, pretending to drive the vehicle," Assistant State's Attorney Lorraine Scaduto said during a bond hearing this week.

A maintenance manager called police about 7 p.m. Monday after he found Flowers in the CTA bus garage at 642 N. Pulaski Road, court records show.

Flowers was carrying about $10 worth of PCP, prosecutors said. He was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

Cook County Judge Peggy Chiampas released Flowers on his own recognizance — so long as there's "no more pretend driving on a CTA bus," she said.
