CHICAGO — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information about the Father's Day shooting of a 3-year-old boy.

At 6:15 p.m. Sunday, Devon Quinn was riding with his dad to pick up his mom when someone shot at their car in the 6100 block of South Kimbark Avenue, police said.

Quinn was hit in the right shoulder, police said. His father drove him straight to the hospital, where the toddler received emergency surgery.

Quinn's family and the Rev. Michael Pfleger, an antiviolence activist, will announce a reward for information about the shooting at 10:30 a.m. Friday at 61st and Kimbark, according to a news release. They're hoping a witness will come forward and identify the shooter.

“If we allow silence and fear to consume us when an innocent 3-year-old child is shot, then we have lost the soul of our city,” Pfleger said in the release.
