CHICAGO — A shooting in North Lawndale Wednesday night left a 28-year-old man dead, police said.

At 8:43 p.m., the man was found lying on the ground in a vacant lot in the 1600 block of South Drake Avenue, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

He was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Antonio Perkins of the 3500 block of West 12th Place.

The man had been shot in the head and neck, Estrada said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead.
