Englewood Shootings Wound 4 People Since Wednesday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings in Englewood have left four men wounded since Wednesday evening, police said.

• Most recently, at 1 a.m. Thursday, a 34-year-old man was standing in an alley in the 1500 block of West 59th Street when someone in a passing tan Impala fired shots at him, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was hit in the left foot. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Estrada said.

• At 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, three men were standing in front of a home in the 5500 block of South Throop Street when a black sedan pulled up and someone got out of the car, took out a gun and fired shots at the men, Estrada said.

The men, one of whom was 20 and two of whom were 19, were shot multiple times in their legs, Estrada said. They were taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were not released but they were listed as "stable," Estrada said.

At least one of the men was a documented gang member, police said, and the shooting might be gang-related.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
