CHICAGO — The state of craft beer in this state is quite good.
With funding from the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild, Uptown-based Big Foot Media recently produced a video on five Chicago-area breweries: Haymarket Pub & Brewery, Spiteful Brewing, Begyle Brewing Company, BrickStone Brewery and Half Acre Beer Company.
The video, which serves as a promotion for the current Chicago Craft Beer Week, is dubbed "A State of Growth." It features how the five local breweries are expanding, from canning lines to the finished product.
"I love seeing the brewing community as strong as ever in coming together and crafting what we live for, beer," said Tommy Vasilakis, a founder of and brewer at BrickStone Brewery.
Big Foot Media's Tim Whalen said the filming took six days and the goal was "to push the boundaries of storytelling by taking the intimate approach of following each brewer around their breweries."
"Through this, we hoped to give the audience a feel for each of their personalities and how that comes through in their brand, their beer and their aspirations," Whalen said.
