ANDERSONVILLE — Jim Jostes will close the doors of his vintage home furnishing shop this weekend, but he'll be popping up soon with a new adventure, he said.

"We are looking to do a bigger, broader assortment of offerings in a retail environment," said the owner of Room Service Chicago, 5438 N. Clark St.

While he was hesitant to reveal details about the project he referred to as "a small business incubator," he said "we'll do our best to stay in the neighborhood."

Jostes is working with the alderman to see what options are available for the new venture and working with "a highly regarded business school on our business model," which will be more "experiential," he said.

Earlier this month, Jostes announced Room Service Chicago was closing after eight years on Clark Street via Facebook and a sign on the store's window.

"Room Service Chicago has been thrilled to be a part of one of the greatest neighborhoods in the country and after 8 years of doing business here, it is time to close our doors," he said.

He also hinted at the new venture adding: "The face of retail is ever-changing, and with that, I will begin the process of a new concept which I envision to be greater and more exciting than anything I have ever done."

All remaining merchandise is 40-70 percent off until the store closes Saturday, he said.
