Woodlawn Shooting Wounds 24-Year-Old Man Standing Outside, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 24-year-old man was shot and wounded in Woodlawn on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

At 1:10 p.m., the man was standing in the 600 block of East Marquette when someone came out of an alley, fired shots at him and ran away, said Officer Kevin Quaid, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was hit in his right thigh and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in good condition, Quaid said.

No one was in custody in the shooting.
