UPTOWN — Monday, leading ladies from musical theaters across Chicago will join with director/producer Christopher Pazdernik for a concert to benefit the Howard Brown Health Center.

The annual benefit concert began in 2015 when Pazdernik was looking to give back to the health center, which has handled his medical care since he was diagnosed as HIV-positive in 2009. The Jeff Award nominee used his network of musical theater performers to enlist 16 performers for a sold-out show at Stage 773, a news release for the event said.

This year, the concert has expanded to 30 performers and is moving to Uptown Underground. Performers include: Missy Aguilar, Charissa Armon, Neala Barron, Elya Bottinger, Laura Savage and Colette Todd, the release said.

Howard Brown Health Center, which was founded in 1974, is "one of the nation's largest health care and research organizations, primarily serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community," according to its website.

At 8 p.m. on May 16, Chris' Birthday Belt Fest will take place at Uptown Underground, 4707 N. Broadway.
