UPTOWN — An Uptown legend is retiring and leaving the city behind, but not before one last hurrah at one of the neighborhood's favorite joints.

In December, Ric Addy, the owner of Shake, Rattle and Read, at 4812 N. Broadway, announced the book and music shop would close and he'd be moving to Florida.

From 1-4 p.m. on May 22, the day after the store will close, Addy will host a retirement party just a few feet south of this shop at the Green Mill, 4802 N. Broadway, according to a Facebook event he created.

The party will have a cash bar and include performances by Addy's band the Pogo Ponies, "jazz piano genius Tommy Muellner" and another surprise guest, according to the event page.
