CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man was seriously wounded in a West Garfield Park shooting Sunday, according to police.

The man was in a parked car in the 4100 block of West Wilcox Street at 9:45 a.m. when shots rang out, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

He was shot in the chest, abdomen and arm, Estrada said. Three other people in the car attempted to drive the man to the hospital, but were pulled over after officers saw them driving erratically, Estrada said.

Police summoned the Chicago Fire Department, who then brought the man to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Estrada said.

No arrests have been made, he said.
