DUNNING — Drivers should avoid the intersection of Irving Park Road and Harlem Avenue for the next several months as crews work to install a new traffic light, officials said.

The work is expected to be completed in the fall, officials said.

Lane closures are expected everyday as crews complete the project, which includes new walkways and ramps designed to allow those in wheelchairs to smoothly cross the street, said officials with the Illinois Department of Transportation, which maintains Irving Park Road, which is also known as State Route 19.

Business along the stretch of Harlem and Irving Park will remain open during the construction, officials said.
