GREATER GRAND CROSSING — A 14-year-old girl was accidentally shot in the city's Grand Crossing area Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Around 3:25 p.m., someone was showing the girl a gun inside a home in the 7100 block of South Ingleside Avenue when it went off and hit her in her neck, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The girl was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, Estrada said, where she was listed in "guarded" condition.

No one is in custody, Estrada said.
