Gunman in Jeep Shoots Two in Hyde Park on Sunday Afternoon: Police

HYDE PARK — Police are searching for green Jeep Cherokee after a person in the car shot two people on the 5400 block of South Harper Avenue Sunday afternoon.

According to University of Chicago police, a 32-year-old man was shot in the leg and a 23-year-old woman suffered a graze wound to the head while driving down the 5400 block of Harper Avenue at approximately 1:15 p.m. Sunday.

The gunman in the Jeep then drove away down East 54th Street, according to police.

Both the man and the woman were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and the man was listed in "stable" condition and the woman in good condition.

Police were not able to immediately provide a description of the gunman.

No one was in custody, according to police.
