CHICAGO — A man was shot while driving northbound on the Kennedy Expressway early Saturday morning, according to Illinois State Police.

The man, whose age was not known, was driving northbound near Wilson Avenue when someone in a red van opened fire on his car, said Tropper Wozniak with the state police.

He was struck, though it was not clear where, in the shooting, and managed to drive himself to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Wozniak said. The man's injuries were non-life threatening, he said.

Troopers closed the northbound lanes of Interstate 94 near the shooting until about 6:30 a.m. Wozniak said. No arrests have been made in the case.
